The Basics of Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation

In this training, participants will learn about how Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation (IECMHC) is a prevention-based approach that pairs a mental health consultant with adults who work with infants and young children where they learn and grow such as child care. Participants will discuss how IECMHC enhances and strengthens staff's skills and confidence in supporting childhood social emotional development, increases staff capacity to respond to difficult behaviors and supports the ability for children in their care to manage emotions and build positive relationships, and promotes mental health awareness, prevention, early identification and referrals for treatment. The session will be facilitated by local consultants allowing educators to meet and connect with the consultants and their peers.

Participants will receive 2hours of ECP credit.
