Raise Montana is a statewide nonprofit whose mission is to mobilize the collective power of community partners to elevate Montana’s early childhood system through professionalization, advocacy, and collaboration. Raise Montana works to achieve our vision of a Montana early childhood system that is shaped by the voices, leadership, and collaboration of those who care for young children by creating spaces for child care professionals and families to organize and advocate for change. 

 

Raise Montana is looking for board members who believe deeply that child care is everyone’s business and is essential infrastructure for all Montana children, families, businesses and community members.  Raise Montana works towards a future where all families have access to affordable, high-quality child care and all child care professionals have thriving wages.  We believe this reality will be achieved by centering and organizing the voices of those who care for young children to advocate for system changes. In this work, Raise Montana follows our values of leadership, innovation, inclusive collaboration and authenticity. 

 

At the end of July, Raise Montana welcomed a new Executive Director and so the board currently meets monthly, but expects to resume their quarterly schedule after this transition.  The Board is responsible for overseeing the Raise Montana’s’ management, policies, goals; setting the strategic direction for the organization; and acting as an advocate to the communities we serve. For the convenience of a statewide board, we use technology to help board members join remotely. We ask that board members commit to making board participation a priority.
