September marks six years from when I took a chance on a Craigslist job at an organization with a name that took me a full month to remember, Montana Child Care Resource & Refferal Network (MCCRRN). The organization was in a period of transition and I was tasked with writing a eulogy for MCCRRN as part of the process of changing our name to the much easier to remember, Raise Montana.  While I cannot recall exactly what I wrote in the eulogy, I do remember that I focused on Raise Montana's belief that we are better together.  As a newbie to the early childhood field, I quickly learned that child care is built on relationships and the commitment that we are all in this together.  This spring it became clear that it was time for Raise Montana to have a new shepherd of the work to navigate the organization's next chapter of supporting child care professionals and families in organizing and mobilizing their collective power for a child care system that centers the voices of those who care for young children.  I am immensely grateful for the grace and grit of every child care professional and early childhood partner I have had the honor to work with for the past six years.  Thank you for welcoming me into the Montana early childhood family and know that I will forever be in y'all's corner.  I can't wait to see how Raise Montana grows and stays rooted in the knowledge that the power and change stems from the belief that we are better together.

Thanks!

~ Grey
