Job Description
Child Care Program; 9-month position, as defined in Classified collective bargaining agreement. Supervised by Parent Community Outreach Coordinator, but works under Head Child Care Aide on a day-to-day basis. Provides quality care, including basic instruction and stimulating activities, to children enrolled in the school district Child Care Program. See Child Care job description.
Required: Two (2) years experience/education working with children; good work habits; certain physical abilities including to exert up to 40 pounds of force to lift and move a child. Preferred: Previous successful experience teaching and/or caring for young children and infants; knowledge of and personally acquainted with local parents and families. Our program is set to attend to children's basic needs and stimulate their physical, emotional, intellectual and social growth. We help children learn skills; explore their interests; develop their talents and independence; build self-esteem and sense of security; and learn how to behave with and trust others. We teach children to play and work cooperatively with each other.
