About the Event

Each year, 52,000 young children are seen at emergency departments because they got into medicine. In nearly half of cases, the medicine belonged to a grandparent.

Join Kevi Berger from the Foundation for Community Health to learn how medicine poisoning can be prevented by following a few important steps.

In this course, participants will:

  • Learn how to reduce accidental injury due to medical care or medical errors during the medication-use process.
  • Engage in hands on activities to educate parents and caregivers on common storage and dosing mistakes and how to avoid those mistakes.
  • Learn about additional safety measures  such as poison prevention number and when to use the number and/or      overdose medication (naloxone).

Participants will receive 2hrs of ECP credit.
