Job Description
Responsibilities:
Adheres to all state licensing rules and regulations
Adheres to all program policies and procedures
Provide quality active supervision, focused attention, and caring service for the children in care
Uses best judgement to act in the best interests of the children at all times
Respond to each individual child’s needs promptly
Maintain a safe, healthy, and orderly environment which promotes active learning
Maintains daily classroom routines, including keeping appropriate records, setting up meals, etc.
Work with the children hands-on to support learning objectives.
Promote harmony among the children attempting to minimize conflict, with gentle but firm guidelines and positive guidance.
Exhibit good listening skills especially when conflict or discipline issues arise and problem solve professionally.
Report any accidents or injuries immediately and document using incident report forms.
Maintain Confidentiality.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Age Requirement: 18 years old
Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
Experience working with children preferred but not necessary.
Skill Requirements:
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Team work skills
Ability to take on new roles and jump in and help in varied ways
Exhibit positive, warm social skills interacting with children, parents, guardians, and other program staff
